“I judge you unfortunate because you have never lived through misfortune” – Seneca.

How many of us can say we are grateful for the difficulties we have faced in our lives?

Do we consider our difficulties and misfortunes a blessing?

Or do we wish for a calm and uneventful life?

Seneca explains that having that calm and uneventful life means we will never learn what we are capable of, and as the full quote says…

“I judge you unfortunate because you have never lived through misfortune. You have passed through life without an opponent—no one can ever know what you are capable of, not even you” – Seneca.

So as you endure those difficulties and misfortunes, remember…

“A gem cannot be polished without friction, nor a man perfected without trials.” – Seneca.
